This mural was created for Upfest in Bristol, one of the world's most recognised street art festivals.
Lately, I've been reflecting on how much time our generation has spent on this planet and how often the world seems driven by conflict, greed, and destruction rather than creation. This project became an opportunity to celebrate a different path: the people who dedicate their lives to making things, expressing themselves, and contributing to culture.
The mural portrays Inkie, a Bristol artist whose work and influence have become part of the city's cultural identity. Beyond his artistic achievements, he represents something I deeply respect: a lifelong commitment to creativity. Over the years, he has always shown generosity, support, and kindness towards us whenever we visited Bristol.
Before painting the mural, I spent time with Inkie in his studio, photographing him and learning more about his environment and practice. The work became a visual interpretation of his character through my own artistic language, bringing together portraiture, narrative drawing, and the visual distortions that define my practice.
Created during Upfest, the mural is both a portrait and a tribute to those who choose creation as a way of life. It celebrates the artists, makers, and cultural contributors who leave something meaningful behind through their work.
Bristol has long been a city shaped by creativity, and this project was an opportunity to honour one of the people who helped build that legacy.
